There was a giggle, and a tiny Asian girl vigorously pushed open the door of her new dorm room, followed by four men wearing tuxedos carrying large pink suitcases. "Hurry up," she told them, twirling around her room. Her father had asked for a single room for her, and because he was a valuable patron to the school, the headmaster had let her have her own room. She was thrilled. And plus, there seemed to be quite a few fetching males at this school. Sighing loudly, she flopped down on her four poster bed. "It needs some re-decoration, but otherwise it's nearly acceptable," she told the four men. "Paul, get my pink blanket out of that suitcase," she ordered, standing up. One of the men asked her where to put her biggest bag, full of her shoes. Sky pointed towards the enormous armoire at the other side of the room and grabbed a pink curtain from one of the men.
There was a knock at the door, and Sky looked around, confused. Did people know her already? That was good. As she told another bodyguard to put her deluxe stereo beside her armoire and mirror, she moved towards the door and opened it.
"What do you want?" she asked.

Mist stood in the doorway nervously, smiling shyly. She hadn't wanted to come, she wasn't much good at socialising, only Scarlette had dared her to go talk to the new rich girl, and she could hardly refuse one of Scarlette's dares. She was quite taken aback by the striking girl who answered and the lavishly furnished room, it was more luxurious than anything she had ever seen at Trenton. "Er...hey. I just wanted to erm...welcome you to Trewin, on behalf of the girls in the other dorms," she said in a tremulous voice, stumbling over the name of the school in her nervoucness. Her eyes lowered, half hiding behind her blonde fringe.

"Yeah, hi," Sky said, not really paying attention. Her head was turned the other direction and was ordering one of her bodyguards around. "More to the left," she said to one who was hanging a portrait of Sky and her old cat on the wall. She squinted. "No, down more," she called, her head twirling back towards the girl. She realized something was wrong. "Isn't this school called Trenton anyways?" she asked bluntly. She only knew this because she had been forced to look at the brochure for the school and there was a picture of a really handsome boy underneath the school's name.

Eleanor appeared in the door way, with the book in her hand and saw Mist and this new gril talking. The new girl looked rich, very rich and Eleanor found her slightly spoilt. However she was curious to find out more, so raising an eyebrow she walked over to Mist's side, forcing a warm, welcoming smile onto her face. "Hello," she said warmly. "Welcome to trenton," she said as happily as she could.

There was some other random girl at the door, and Sky raised an eyebrow. "Why the welcome wagon?" she asked, a scornful tone in her voice. She leaned against the door, hands on hips, and looked at the two other girls. She didn't want everyone to come say hi. Even though she loved attention, these people were not the type of people she usually fraternized with. She pointed at her suitcase full of shoes and yelled, "Arrange those by color!" to one of her bodyguards.

Eleanor was quite surprised by these reaction as she raised her eyebrows curiously, before turning back to the girl and forcing a little smile. "So, why have you come here then?" she asked, slightly coldly and bitterly.

"Yeah, we don't get many new people round here, what with the school being haunted and everything. Loads of...disasters have happened here, people dying and having terrible things happen to them. I mean...I don't want to put you off or anything, it just seems kind of strange," Mist said, regaining the power of speech now that Eleanor was here. She was still kind of overwhelmed by all the glamour and obvious signs that this girl was richer than anyone she knew.

"Nice," Sky said, obviously not listening. If her brain had actually realized that Mist had commented on the danger at the school, she would have phoned her daddy straightaway and made him get her out. Unfortunately, she wasn't smart enough. She had gotten out a nail file and was shaping her nails nicely. She was trying not to rub off the white tips of her french manicure. She looked up. "You're still here?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Eleanor blinked. "Yes. TGerrible things," she said forcing a little smile. "People die and get blind. Ghosts and all. I know its hard to believe, but yes this place is indeed haunted." She leant forward and saw the girl's room. It was packed with all this high-quality, rich funiture. It was amazing as it dazzled in front of her.

"Sounds fun," Sky said unenthusiastically, shaving a small imperfection off her fingernail with the file. She looked up, a thought for once crossing her mind. "Where are all the parties?" she asked the two girls curiously. It was important to know these things, she decided, especially if she planned to become the queen bee of the school.

"Parties? Um...well there are usually some on the special occasions such as Christmas, but recently most of them havce ended in chaos," she pointed out dryly, shivering at the old foul memories.

Sky shrugged. "Well if no one throws decent parties here, I guess I'll start. But of course, you won't be invited. You're too ugly and stupid," she said absent-mindedly. She did not care about being nice to the two girls standing in front of her. They weren't in her crowd. "I have a huge stereo coming in and then they'll be fun. I guess you'll be able to hear from down the hall..."

"Geez, thanks. You sre know how to compliment people," Mist replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She had met this kind of person before and always found it hard to see their good side. "You might have trouble finding people who will be willing to go to these parties though. And if you're thinking of becoming the most "popular" girl in the school, you'll have some pretty strong competition," she added as an afterthought.

Sky immediately started to pay attention. "Why would I have competition?" she asked bluntly. "I'm cooler than anyone else here." Sure she was conceited, but she couldn't help it. She loved to enlighten herself.

Mist raised an eyebrow, surprised that someone so obsessed with popularity hadn't already figured out exactly who their competition might be. "Well there's Serena and her gang of miniskirt wearing, make-up coated crones. They practically rule the place. And then there's the rest of us, friends of Cat, friends of Jason, we're not like you, we don't really do parties, but there are a lot of us, and we're all popular amongst our friends," she explained, not sure she was getting the point across.
