Casimir was led by the hand, Liza holding tightly onto it. He was being dragge down, down the hill and out of the school bounds and to what he thought as Liza's house. It was hard though to keep up and not to trip over some rock. Very hard indeed. However, he did not know why she was leading him down there. She had simply grabbed his hand and told him to follow her. How awkward and he was growing slightly suspicious. Suddenly, though, he got his foot work wrong and tripped over some rock and landed on his face. Groaning, he wondered how bruises he had from tripping over to many times. Getting wearily to his feet, brushing the dust off his long black coat he turned to where he thought Liza was. "Okay. Where are we going?" he asked finally.

"Home," Liza replied obscurely. She still hadn't got used to the fact that he was blind, nor had she found it in her heart to forgive any of the others who had caused this, however indirectly. She wasn't even sure if she could forgive Casimir for putting himself in such a dangerous situation in the first place. Even in the sunlight, as they walked down the country lane to her house, it was hard to forget those hellish days after the accident, the shock and all the tears. They hadn't even let her or her brother visit him in hospital.

Casimir raised an eyebrow curiously and let LIza take his hand once more and lead him down the grassy hill to what he thought would be Liza's home. However he found something utterly puzzling about this. Why had she taken him all a sudden with no explanation? He frowned and stopped, letting go of Liza's hand. "What's going on? i'm not really getting this. Why are you taking me to your house for no reason? I'm confused, Liza," he asked.

Liza shrugged, then remembered. She always forgot when he was around him now. HIs tone of voice and mannerisms were the same, only he couldn-t see her or perceive what she did. "I just thought you might like to get way from that place. All the averted glances and whispers. They're turning you into a freak show, you need to feel normal again," she replied as they reached the bottom of the hill. She led him cautiously through the gate, down the path to the fairy tale cottage that was her home. Sure, there was no internet and no connection to the outside world, it was little more than a farm, but in her opinion, it was prettier than anywhere else in the world. As the saying goes, home is where the heart is.

Casimir felt the rocks stopped and soon found himself of the grass, his had still in liza's. he had to hold on everyone's hand they days. It was horrible. He looked around, but, obviosuly, saw nothing and wondered where he was. 2Your house? Haven't been there for age," he mumbled, trying to recall the memories of his last visit.

"Well you do kind of live with us now, remember," Liza reminded him, looking back at him tenderly, although she had to squint into the sunlight to see his face clearly. Of course, he couldn't see her at all, so he was definitely worse off. "Honey, I'm home," she called into the open doorway. She assumed her dear mother was home, or else they were being burgled, as her mother wasn't the kind of person to leave the door wide open. Her mother appeared moments later, looking quite the picture of motherly kindness in a patchwork apron, cookie dough sticking to her slender hands as she beamed at them, sunlight streaming through her hair the colour of black ink. She hugged them both, so Liza almost choked on the flour in her hair. "Well, my darlings, come inside," she exclaimed welcomingly.

Casimir had to lower his cane and it camme to be quite a surprise as he suddenly was hugged, suffocating slightly. Realising it was Liza's mother, he smiled at her, not knowing exactly where she was. "Hello," he said kindly and bowed his head. "I thank you greatly for taking me in. I truely am grateful." He inclined his head, as he smiled at her gratefully. It was hard though to place himself, as he never knew if he was actually looking at some one or just in this air.

Liza caught the look of pity in her mother's eyes, the glassy look there, the first hints of tears. "It's fine Casimir, you don't need to thank me. It was the least I could do," Her mother replied, stroking Casimir's head of black hair tenderly. He had always been like a second son to her anyway. "Come inside," Liza said into his ear, standing on tip toes to do so, her hair brushing the bare skin of his neck. She led him inside, feeling her mother's smile on the back of her neck.

Casimir suddenly felt wanted for the first time in his life as Liza led him up the winding stairs of their house. She had stepped on these so many times and it recalled him of the good times. thoese time of his childhood. He smiled at them. at these precious memoirs. So much had changed since them. It was ironic. They suddenly stopped and Casimir found himself in a room. "Are we in your room, liza?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, I really wish you could see it. I redecorated and all there's even a picture of your favourite band up there, just for you. I really wish I could do something to help," she sighed, collapsing into her suede armchair, looking at him sadly.

Taking his cane, he tapped his way until he hit what he thought was the bed and thus he slumped on it. Sighing, he brushed his hair out of his face and turned to where he thought Liza was. " Why did you put that up?" he asked, raising an eyebrow curiously.

LIza shrugged. "I dunno, they're one of my favourite bands too, I guess," she replied, not wanting to sound so tacky and desperate. She wasn't desperate anyay, she reminded herself, she just wanted to help him when he needed her most.

Casimir nodded and looked away. he suddenly felt very uneasy as this silence fell upon them. he needed to break it. SIghing, he fell and lay on her bed. "This is a very confertable bed," he said and smiled warmly to himself.

"You can have it if you want. You know my mum will do anything to make things better for you, she'd even throw Caspian and me out of the house if she felt we were getting in your way. To be honest, I doubt ither of us would mind. See, we're all here for you," she said with a grin, ruffling his hair in the way she always used to.

He smiled at her, his hair shadowing feeling his hair falling onto his face. When was the last time she had been like this to him? It was a long time ago and now look. It was bizzarre but he thoroughly enjoyed it. "Don't worry. I won't get in your way and you can keep the bed," he whispered into her ear. They were so close now. So close. HE felt her breath caress his cheeks and lips. He knew they were only inches away.
